The “HOUSE OF HOPE” is the name of our shelter where women/girls survivors of human trafficking (with children or singles), migrant women/girls/refugees in difficult economic situations are accommodated, the goal of the HOUSE OF HOPE is not only to provide a roof over their heads, but it is to give them a chance to heal, to rebuild their lives in a safe place and support space.  The House of Hope offers empowerment programs for women giving  them the possibility of emancipation and  financial independence, It is a space where they can  acquire the ability and strength to rebuild a life based on dignity, freedom and full respect for their human rights

Our Objectives and what is central to our existence is the power and courage that we had as migrant women on one hand and as survivors in turning our traumatic experiences into knitting instruments to keep weaving shattered dreams and hopes.

We do this through setting standards for good practice in a variety of settings;

  • By developing synergies and complementarities in facilitating needs, identification, assistance and support to victims and survivors
  •   Provision of gender-specific psycho-social, legal services aiding the integration of victims and survivors of trafficking which also include holistic psychological and social support.
  • Rescuing of trafficked victims from modern day slavery;
  • Sensitization campaigns against human trafficking and modern-day slavery both in schools, conferences, communities ecc;
  • To advocate and lobby for necessary changes to the law;
  • To establish a safe house and emergency support for the rehabilitation and reintegration of trafficking survivors
  •  Regularization of migrant resident status; services such as identification and recognition of victim of trafficking, obtaining and/or renewal of the necessary immigration permits, international protection related matters, any other immigration related matters, criminal matters, family related matters, securing access to appropriate housing (provision of shelters and protected flats), and other integration initiatives.
  • Economic empowerment; This is about enabling economic independence through Employment opportunities, Education and professional training (job orientation training and access to entrepreneurship, business plans, access to resources), Resource mobilization, funding schemes (start-ups, small business) , Access to technology / digital skills,  Mentoring, Care services, Welfare and social benefits
  • Translation of documents; School certificates, birth certificates, and other documents from country of origin that need to be translated to Italian Language
  • Interpretation/ cultural mediation.
  • Providing training & consultancy for professionals & communities; disseminating information on abuse & how to engage, work with and support survivors; and by encouraging safe, enlightened self-help, peer support and creative responses by and for survivors.

We seek individuals, organizations and professional training bodies who will work collaboratively with us, hear us, learn from our expertise and stand alongside with us to fight against human trafficking and social injustice.

support our work.

We firmly believe in the inner strength and potential that each individual possesses to face and overcome adversity, turning challenges into opportunities to build a bright and promising future.  Although we cannot erase our past, we cannot allow it to hold us in an overwhelming position. Come on, let’s move!  for a better future not only for us, but for all those around us, for those who will pass through our parts, and for a better society

A journey of freedom with Weavers of Hope APS, at WEHOPE every girl/woman who walks through our doors brings with them a story of unimaginable hardship and shattered hope but also of incredible courage. One of the beneficiaries of our House of Hope shelter is a young Nigerian woman whose journey is at the heart of what we do and believe: helping women regain their total freedom after enduring the horrors of sexual exploitation. This woman’s courage and resilience shine through as she under the available programs to regain her freedom. She is no longer defined by the trauma of her past, but by the strength she is cultivating for her future. Today she is learning how to create jewellery through our bead-making initiative and is an active participant in the workshop of this Project, which will help her achieve a job placement and financial independence. Our mission in the HOUSE OF HOPE is to walk alongside girls/women, helping them to regain their sense of self-worth and autonomy. While the road to recovery is long, she is a testament to the power of support and the will to overcome
